The future is now
You must be familiar with the expression, ‘If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail’. So many of us can recite this just like children in kindergarten reciting their favorite poem on the assembly ground. As common as this phrase, many young adults still fail to plan the future they envisage for themselves. They can be mostly likened to the bible character Joseph, who went about telling members of his family about the dream he had without thinking much about how it would come to be.
Many of us fall into this category. We are dream narrators, who can tell you where we would love to be in the next five years, describe our dreams in the most captivating way but cannot answer the question 'How'.
‘If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail’.
The 'How’ is found missing because we do not factor in the place of preparation during the course of our life's journey. To achieve that big dream one must go through a process like Joseph did in the prison. Joseph didn't really know he had to pass through that process. There is a place for process on the journey to success. Anyone who jumps past that threshold would pay severely. Ask great men and women you admire today, they all had to go through that process. They established a routine in their lives that shaped their lifestyle, decision and value system.

The future belongs only to those who prepare for it. So, grab your “slate board” outline the necessary steps, identify the people you need to include in your life and those you may need to let go of. Determine the skills you need to acquire to achieve your goals. Consider the grades you need to harness to be the best amongst your peers. This requires deep thinking and thorough preparation. No one else would take control of your future but you. Bear in mind that, life may not give you what you want but it definitely would give you what you pursue with adequate preparation.Put simply by Jim Moran: “The future belongs to those who prepare for it.”
